I received a list of pharmacies from my insurance company and Physician Family Pharmacy Compound & Mini Clinic Pharmacy + Clinic is not listed. What does that mean?

It is probably nothing to worry about. The brochures provided by insurance companies usually only list a small number of local pharmacies. Often independent pharmacies are omitted in favor of larger retailers. We accept all major insurance plans and it is very likely that we accept yours.

Does Physician Family Pharmacy Compound & Mini Clinic Pharmacy accept my insurance plan?

Physician Family Pharmacy Compound & Mini Clinic Pharmacy accepts almost all insurance plans. The only way to know for sure is to bring your insurance card by or give us a call. Very rarely there will be an insurance plan that we do not yet accept, but in these cases we can call the insurance plan and set you up so that your prescriptions are covered.

If generic drugs are so much cheaper than brand name drugs, how can they work as well?

Generic manufacturers can make their drugs cheaper because they do not pay the development and marketing costs that the maker of the brand product pays. However, in order for a generic drug to be approved by the FDA, it must not only be proven safe and effective but it also must work the same way in the body as the brand drug.

My pharmacy told me that they can’t get one of the drugs I am on. How is that possible and can you help me?

Drug shortages can occur for a number of different reasons, including problems obtaining raw materials, manufacturing issues, discontinuation of drug products, and drug recalls. Physician Family Pharmacy Compound & Mini Clinic Pharmacy works hard to stay on top of drug shortages by making sure we order enough product when a potential problem arises. If a drug shortage is prolonged, we can work with you to find a similar drug so that your drug therapy is as uninterrupted as possible.
